Dillon and Jessica were married at Bluestem Tree Farm and Vineyard near Crete, Nebraska. They thought of absolutely every detail for their wedding day, even crafting handmade furniture from timbers at their farm for the reception.
This is one of my favorite portraits from their day, and I especially love it in black and white. Bluestem has a lot of trees (obviously---it's a tree farm!) and the way the light was coming through in this particular spot was pretty much magical.
My favorite lens is the Canon 70-200 2.8L and this is a great example as to why. It is so sharp for the subject, but the background fades away so quickly.
One of the coolest parts of this wedding is that I had just gotten engaged the previous day so I was even more excited about weddings that I am typically am. I do remember spending the day worrying about losing my new ring though!
