FAQ’s

Weather conditions can significantly impact the session, and I certainly don’t want you to be uncomfortable. If it’s extremely hot, cold, windy, or raining, we can always reschedule. Even an overcast day can be less than ideal if you are looking for gorgeous backlit images. I want the best possible photos, and if the weather is likely to be a significant factor in the day’s success, I will often recommend rescheduling the session for another date.

In the case of illness or injury, I will always recommend rescheduling. I want you to be at your best for your session.

I reserve at least one day each week specifically for rescheduling, so even in my busiest season, I can typically find a new date within a week or two.

Yes, this is a session customized to you, and if you want to include extra people, animals, or whatever, I’m on board.

With seniors, we typically don’t have to worry about coordinating with others, so the options are pretty much endless. I’m more than happy to help you with specific ideas, and often clients will send photos ahead of time for input. The one rule I do suggest is to avoid neon colors. Not only does it put all the focus on the outfit rather than the person, but it can also make skin tones look awful. For seniors, it’s a great opportunity to showcase their personality and style through their clothing.

I don’t have any limits on outfits, but typically recommend at least two (because it’s good to have options) and no more than five (because you don’t want to spend your entire session changing clothes).

Props are a great way to personalize your session. Whether it’s your musical instrument, sports equipment, medals, favorite books, or other personal items, incorporating props can make your shoot unique and meaningful.

Yes, I am more than happy to travel for sessions. While I am based in Lincoln, a large portion of my sessions are on location throughout the southeast Nebraska area. I always love the opportunity to work in new places. There are no travel fees for locations within a 40-mile radius of Lincoln. Beyond that, my travel fee is $ 0.75 per mile.

Yes! All sessions include the full gallery of edited high-resolution digital images. You are free to print and share the photos.

Yes, I offer professional prints and products through my gallery website. All sessions include a complimentary print/product credit as a little incentive to make sure your photos are printed and displayed.

For the best light, outdoor sessions are typically scheduled in the evening within a few hours of sunset.

To officially reserve a session date, I require a signed contract and retainer payment, which can be done entirely online. Get in touch to check my availability!

The Process

01.

Inquire and reserve your session date

First, get in touch to check my availability. During the summer and fall seasons, I’m often booked a couple of months in advance. I’ll get back to you right away with potential dates, and we can discuss your ideas. Occasionally I have last-minute openings, so regardless of your timeline, please reach out!

When you are ready to move forward with booking, you can easily sign a contract and pay the retainer online.

02.

Prepare for your session

Before your session, I’m here to help you with location ideas, outfit selection, and to discuss any other ideas you might want to incorporate. We will typically set up a call to plan out all the specific details.

My goal is to make your session a fun, yet meaningful experience. One way to accomplish that is to be sure you feel prepared. I’m here to help, however you may need me.

03.

Enjoy the experience

I want your session to be an enjoyable, stress-free experience. While I know not everyone loves being in front of the camera, I’ve heard over and over again that the session was actually a great time.

After the session, I’ll get to work right away on editing your images. Your full gallery will be ready within two weeks. All sessions include a complimentary print/product credit as a way to encourage your photos to live somewhere beyond your hard drive.
