I find that many of my wedding clients do not need an engagement for various reasons—most often that they live out of state. I find that it’s works best to offer engagement sessions as an add-on to my collections and they are deeply discounted when booked with your wedding photography.

Absolutely! My travel fee for engagement sessions that are beyond 40 miles from Lincoln, Nebraska is $.75/mile.

Your full gallery of engagement images are available two weeks after the session. All images are delivered through your private online gallery.

Most engagement sessions include approximately 70 edited images.

Weather conditions can significantly impact the session, and I certainly don’t want anyone to be uncomfortable. If it’s extremely hot, cold, windy, or raining, we can always reschedule. Even an overcast day can be less than ideal if you are looking for gorgeous backlit images. I want the best possible photos, and if the weather is likely to be a significant factor in the day’s success, I will often recommend rescheduling the session for another date.

In the case of illness or injury, I will always recommend rescheduling. We want everyone to be at their best.

I reserve at least one day each week specifically for rescheduling, so even in my busiest season, I can typically find a new date within a week or two.

Yes! All sessions include the full gallery of edited high-resolution digital images. You are free to print and share the photos.

Yes, I offer professional prints and products through my gallery website. Engagement guestbooks are my most popular option.

My best advice is to pick something for one person and let that “inspire” the selections for the other. The key is not to match but to coordinate. There are so many great options, and I’m more than happy to help. If you want multiple outfits, it’s totally fine.

Engagement sessions are always in the evening about 90 minutes before sunset. That offers the best light, and for the warmer months it also provides cooler temperatures.

The Process

Inquire and schedule

First, get in touch to check my availability. During the busiest seasons (summer and fall), I’m often booked a few months in advance. I’ll get back to you right away with potential dates, and we can discuss your ideas.

When you are ready to move forward with booking, you can easily sign a contract and pay the retainer online.

Plan and prepare

Before your session, we will talk through location ideas, outfit selection, and any other ideas or questions you might have.

If you aren’t sure what you have in mind, I have lots of resources to share.

03.

Enjoy your session

I want your session to be an enjoyable, stress-free experience. While I know not everyone loves being in front of the camera, I’ve heard over and over again that the session was actually a lot of fun.

After the session, I’ll get to work right away on editing your images. Your full gallery will be ready within two weeks.

The digital image files will be available to download through my gallery website, and you are welcome to share them with friends and family.
