About Allison

I can honestly say I’ve found my dream job.

As a child, I always loved art and wanted to grow up to be an animator for Disney movies. My college drawing classes told me otherwise—I seriously can’t draw. Somewhere along the line, I found that photography was really what I was meant to do. Photography strikes a perfect balance between art and technology, making it a great fit for my skill set.

I photographed my first wedding over twenty years ago, and I’ve been doing this full-time for seventeen years. I love using my creativity every day, but working with amazing clients is by far the best part.

I have the best family, including my awesome and nerdy husband, Kyle, a biology professor at Nebraska Wesleyan, and the smartest, most charming 7-year-old, Brooks. Our newest addition is Finn, a cute but very mischievous poodle mix. I’m a huge fan of golf, bike rides, reading, podcasts, and naps.

  • Kyle and I were engaged 57 days after our first date, and married 112 days later.

    Best decision ever.

  • I’m obsessed with the Price is Right.

    I will come on down someday.

  • I’m a multiplication table whiz.

    I once held the school record for most multiplication problems completed in a minute. This skill has come in handy exactly zero times.

  • I’ve rediscovered my love of reading in the past few years.

    A few favorite authors are Charlie Donlea, Sara Goodman Confino, Julie Clark, Harlan Coben and Abby Jimenez.

  • I have a 1167 day streak on Peloton.

    Don’t be too impressed. Some days my workout is a 5 minute meditation and I fall asleep one minute into it.

  • Breckenridge in the summer is my happy place.

    The weather, the scenery, and the laid-back vibe. I just love that place.

  • I played college golf and once coached high school golf.

    I still play golf about once a week, and I’m embarrassingly competitive about it.

  • I absolutely love musicals.

    I’ve been to Hamilton six times, but other favorites are Moulin Rouge, Come from Away, Finding Neverland, and In the Heights.

  • As a family, we love to visit different zoos around the country.

    Omaha is still the best.

  • My first job was at Dairy Queen.

    And now I’m lactose intolerant.
